Revelations I Lyra & Lucan

She sat on the edge of her bed, shaking as he held her close, watching her.  “He was… but he was also the same one who let his friends feed off of me.”  She admitted softly.  She wrapped her arms around him and buried her head in his chest.  “He called me, said he couldn’t keep it from me anymore… I thought I could trust him…”

She felt more tears on the horizon, but she didn’t want to cry anymore.  “He told me, he’s not just a wizard. He’s not human, he didn’t tell me how but somehow he was the same age now that he was when I was born. He killed them because he knew I would be useful in his stupid plans for world domination…”

It all sounded so overdramatic and farfetched to her but it was all true.  That much she knew.  She wanted to find him, tear him apart, rip him to shreds.  Show him what it really meant to lose someone.  But she wasn’t that kind of person.  She would never stoop so low as to do the same to him.

Lucan petted her hair as he stood and sat next to her. He kissed her temple gently, wrapping his arms around her gently. He held her close, not really sure what else to do. He pet her hair and tightened his arms around her. He made the mental note to find him and kill him. Quickly. But right now, he needed to be with her. He kept her close, his hand rubbing her arm gently as he held her.

“I am so sorry.” He whispered in her ear gently. He didn’t know what else to say or do, but he knew she needed him and he was there. He wouldn’t leave for anything.

She closed her eyes, her breathing beginning to slow.  Having Lucan’s arms around her like this was soothing, and it allowed her to process it without breaking down yet again. She’d never meet her parents, it wasn’t as though she’d been expecting them to be alive.  For most of her life she’d simply assumed they either didn’t want her or they were dead.  But hearing it from Nikolai was just… it wasn’t what she’d wanted to hear.

“Why’re you apologizing love. Its not your fault.” She made an attempt at a laugh, it fell flat.  She looked at him, holding him close. “I thought they were dead anyway, i guess this just confirms it.” She was trying to maybe see a side to this that wasn’t so awful, it was just so hard now that it was true.
